The “low season”

Since we arrived at the southern end of the world there has been one theme…”the low season”. This is said as a reason for nothing being open…for the streets being empty…and sometimes for the weather being rough. From a wilderness stand point…We love it!!! We hiked Torres del Paine almost alone for most of the trek and the next two weeks we would see even less people. If you can wait out a bad day here and there, the “low season” is awesome. When we arrive in El Chalten the streets are empty. Less than 5% of the businesses are open. We find food and a place to sleep…tomorrow we will be in the mountains.
